The two Senators from the State of Michigan are Gary Peters and Debbie Stabenow.

My representative in the United States House of Representatives is David Trott.

I listed the links on their official websites for Contacting the Senators/Representative and/or Scheduling a meeting.

If you want help from the office of Gary Peters, you must fill out the form. After hitting submit you are directed to a Privacy Release form. You must Print out that form, fill it out by hand, then send it back to the office of Gary Peters by fax, or scanning the document and emailing it back, or sending it by U.S. mail. He does not make this a simple process.

If you want help from the offices of Stabenow and Trott, they do not follow this process.

Only the office of Gary Peters has an option of trying to “Schedule a Meeting”. Technically, any person or group can request a meeting. Unless you are a big money donor or a lobbyist, you request will be deleted and denied.

For some reason, our elected officials believe they become more important once they are elected to office. They forget they were elected to represent their constituents. Once they get that title in front of their name, something goes off in their brain and they lose their sense of morality, character, and ethics. Very few politicians are able to remain grounded. This has happened since the beginning of time.

It is the reason politicians and ladies of the evening are considered as equals in the social rank of society.

Ladies of the evening sell their body for profit.

Politicians sell their soul, integrity and humanity for profit.

My belief is God is much more accepting of ladies of the evening into heaven than politicians (especially lifetime politicians). God tends not to like those who speak with forked tongues.

If you look into the silverware drawer of most politicians:

You will see plenty of knives to use for insertion.

You will see plenty of forks to use when trying to prove their sainthood.

You will see plenty of spoons to use when trying to spoon out the schmooze.

I do not have much respect for politicians, especially lifetime politicians. I think Warren Buffett was quoted as saying we could balance the $21 trillion budget deficit in five minutes if we withheld the pay and lifetime benefits of politicians. I do not think it would take that long.

If you want to schedule a meeting with Gary Peters, you are asked the following questions. I find it most interesting Gary Peters wants to know "Who Is The Sponsor/Host?Topic?" and "Are Any Other Elected Officials Invited?".

I find it especially interesting Gary Peters wants to know "Is the News Media invited to attend?".

Help with a Federal Agency

Gary's office stands ready to help you understand your rights and responsibilities related to various federal programs and help you work through a problem you may have with a federal agency.

Acting as a liaison between you and the federal government, our staff can often help you answer questions, find resources or resolve problems. While we cannot ask an agency to circumvent its rules, force it to decide a question in your favor, or change a decision that is already final, we can make inquiries about the status of your situation and review the steps taken thus far to ensure your case is being handled properly. Please note that our office is unable to assist with problems not related to federal agencies, such as judicial or state matters.

In order to get started, our staff is required to have your written authorization before information may be disclosed from a government agency. To simplify this process, please complete the online form below to generate a privacy release for you to print out. Printing, signing and returning that completed privacy release form will provide your written authorization. Please submit your form via mail or fax, and be sure to include any other documents or materials that would help us assist you.

If you are a Michigan resident stationed at a military base outside of the state, please include your home of record in your message. If you are not a resident of Michigan but are contacting us about a relative who lives in our state, please include their home address in your message.

Due to heightened security concerns in the U.S. Capitol, all mail sent to Gary's office in Washington, D.C. may be significantly delayed by additional security screening procedures. If your issue is urgent or time-sensitive, please call our Detroit office toll free at (844) 506-7420.

Using this form is the quickest way for you to communicate with my office electronically.

Note: If you need assistance with a problem you are having with a federal agency, click here.

Because of the large volume of mail I receive every day, I can only respond to my constituents from Michigan, which is why I require your postal address in all e-mails sent to my office.

For security reasons, my office does not accept attachments in e-mails. Anything attached to e-mail messages is deleted before it reaches my office. This is to protect the U.S. Senate servers from viruses.

Even though we request your postal address, you will receive your response via e-mail.

You should always include your full postal address at the very top of your message to be sure it gets processed right away.

If you have problems using this form, or questions about my e-mail policy, feel free to call my Washington, DC office at (202) 224-4822 or one of my offices listed at the bottom of this page.

Agency Assistance

Senator Stabenow's office is happy to help constituents with casework, which is any problem involving a federal department or agency. These are either departments of the President's Cabinet (e.g., Dept of Treasury, Dept of Health and Human Services, Dept of Veterans Affairs) or independent agencies (like the EPA or the EEOC).

A number of regulations restrict what federal agencies are able to do. I cannot ask agencies to ignore these regulations, or make exceptions that would violate the law. I can, however, ask that your rights are respected and that the procedures are followed correctly.

Due to the separation of powers, Senator Stabenow's office is unable to help you with problems that are not related to federal agencies. Here are some common non-federal issues, and information on where to go for help:

Workers' Compensation (unless it involves a federal agency, like the Postal Service) - contact your State Representative or State Senator.

Family Independence Agency (includes Child Protective Service, Medicaid and financial assistance) - contact your State Representative, State Senator, or FIA directly.

Friend of the Court (Child support, visitation, and custody)- Unless it is an interstate child support case, please contact your State legislators or the State Court Administrator's Office, Friend of the Court Bureau at (517) 373-4835.

Tenant/Landlord Issues - Contact your State Representative or State Senator. They have excellent resources to help you resolve your problem. You might also consider looking in the Yellow Pages for a Housing Resource Center in your area.

Legal Issues - involving either the state or federal judiciary. In these cases, you may wish to contact an attorney. The State Bar of Michigan operates an attorney referral service, which you can access by calling (800) 968-0738. Some services may be available free or at reduced costs for low-income persons.

If you are sure your case relates to a federal department or agency, you can fill out the form below to open your case online.
